Steve has delivered projects and programmes throughout the UK and has directly managed teams consisting of contractors and/or permanent staff, conducted recruitment & performance management, whilst managing large Capex & Operating budgets.

Steve is currently a Deployment Manager on the R100 Superfast Broadband programme for Scottish Government as part of the Independent Intelligence Team.

In his overseas roles, Steve conducted tender processes, vendor selection & contract management to ensure an aggressive national network rollout programme of civil works, traditional copper & fibre networks were delivered to requirements.

In addition, Steve managed various special projects delivering cross-island optical fibre links, the national exchange building programme and had ‘shore-end’ responsibility for several submarine fibre systems.

He qualified as a Communications Engineer in 1984, starting his career with BT and is a Prince 2 Practitioner.
